I have to agree with you that LED grow lights are much more efficient than traditional high-intensity discharge lighting. The way that the light diodes can be controlled in both direction and wave-length is nothing short of amazing.
That being said, people are still struggling to get the same yield quantity with LEDs as they do with the traditional HID lights. Quantity is a big deal. I think the LED lights will catch up fast though.
