Starting Your Plants with a Hydrofarm

No comment yet

It is easy to start your plants early in the season with a hydrofarm.  All you need is a grow tent and some form of artificial lighting.  This can be either fluorescent, metal halide, or led lights.  All you need to do is make sure that you have the tent in a location where you can control the amount of humidity and keep the interior warm enough to encourage plant growth.

When Should I Take My Plants Out of My Hydrofarm?

If you have built a hydrofarm at your home to start your plants, it can be hard to know when it is best to move them outside.  The most common rule is to move the plants when they are between 6 and 8 inches high.  While this rule is good for larger plants, such as tomatoes, it may not apply to all plants.  If you are growing smaller plants, then the rule is: after the third set of leaves have developed.
